How to separate consolidated cases?
There are 2 ways to separate cases that have previously been consolidated.
1. Split a consolidated case
2. Undo a consolidated case
Both the split and undo functions will separate the link between the cases that were consolidated. The main difference is if the user would like the case to go back to its original case number with the undo function or if they would like the case number to remain the same as it was when the case was consolidated in which they would split the case.
Once consolidated cases have been split, each individual case that was a part of the consolidated cases will have returned to their original relationships and charges.
Why split a consolidated case?
The purpose of splitting a consolidated case, is to separate the cases that were once viewed as one into their own cases but still have the ability to see that those cases at one point were connected.
The goal is to separate the cases, but the incident number will not return to its original number.
How to split a consolidated case?
To split consolidated cases, select the case > right click the case in the case list > More > Consolidation >Split Consolidation
When a consolidated case is being split, the individual cases will keep the new incident number that it was given during the consolidation and retain the original information that they originally came with in the case and any information that was added to that specific case during it’s time as a consolidated case.
