What is the Summary Tab?

The Summary Tab is a screen where a user can go to get a quick meaningful snapshot of their case without going from tab to tab to get the information. The reports published to the Summary tab should be simple and to the point. If the report is very detailed, it might take a long time to open, and that would defeat the point of having a Summary tab to quickly and easily view case information at a glance.

The concept of the Summary tab is to provide a place where the STAC Administrator can display data from multiple areas in a single place. The data attorneys need to see in court in the first phases of a case is not the same data attorneys need to see during trial, and that is different from what Victim/Witness coordinators or investigators need to see. For this reason, the Summary tab allows the creation of multiple pages, allowing for different users to see the data that matters at a glance without having to scroll through multiple fields or records that are not relevant for their work.

A few examples of pages are:
  1. Case Summary - listing the defendant, prosecutor, defense attorney, judge, arresting agency, arresting officers, offense and arrest dates, detention status, current charges, and a list of hearings.
  2. Relationship cross-over - List of the previous cases where the defendant, witness, or victim are also related.
  3. Defendant History and Aliases - List of all previous cases of the same defendant including all aliases used by the defendant
  4. E-filed Documents - List of all E-filed documents including the parties that were served
  5. Case Disposition - The disposition of the current case including how each charge was disposed and the sentence.
  6. Victim restitution - List of the restitution due to each victim
These are just a few examples of what can be displayed in the summary. This is the place where the STAC Administrator can display data from virtually every area in STAC, organized in a way that makes sense to each group of users.
Info
Any page in the summary can be downloaded as a PDF to be printed.
