How to use the Image Review?
What is the Image Review?
The image review is a great tool to see all the images that are pending review. By default, STAC will show the images for the user that is logged in and any images that they are assigned to review. A user will be notified that they have an image that is pending review because the My STAC and Image Review will light up orange and show the number of records that are pending.
How to search the Image review and see records for other reviewers?
Users have the ability to look through other users and review images on behalf of them. Users also have the ability to see if there are any images that are pending review that do not have a reviewer assigned.
To search by Image Type or other reviewers: Image Review > Advanced Search
How to use the Image Review?
The image review is fairly simple to use. Once there is an image that is pending review, My STAC and Image review will light up orange.
By default, when a user opens the image review it will show the user their images that are pending review. Then, the user can mark the image as reviewed, set another reviewer, or set the image as Discovery.
STAC allows users to see pending images from all the other users that have pending images, and it will also allow users to see images that are set for review but do not have a reviewer assigned. Users also have the ability to filter by image type to help in organizing their data. These actions can be done through the Advanced Search.
When a relationship such as the ASA is replaced in a case, STAC will automatically take all of the pending image reviews from the case that was assigned to the previous ASA and reassign it to the new ASA. The reassigned information will be saved in the Log Comment. The log will indicate who was the original assignee and when the reassignment took place.
It is very important to understand how the Image review works in specific conditions:
- When there is no attorney assigned to the case and the image is set for review, it will go to Reviewer not assigned. However, as soon as an attorney is added to the case, the pending images will be removed from the reviewer not assigned and be moved into the new attorneys pending review.
- When an image is set to be reviewed but the Directory or relationship assigned was inactive then the pending image review will go to the “Catch all”. The Catch all is assigned/created in the Image Triggers code table.
- Users can create triggers for the image review; they can set certain relationships to automatically be sent an image review even if that relationship does not exist in a case. Then the image review goes to the Reviewer not assigned, if the case is closed and it still has images pending review in the reviewer not assigned, then those images will be deleted from the image review after 60 days because it is hardcoded in Stac that if a case closes and has pending images to be reviewed but it does not have a specific reviewer assigned. Those images will be deleted from the Image review after 60 days.
- If images have not been reviewed in a certain period of time, they will be flagged by STAC and display a message saying that the image was reviewed by the system. The configurations for this setting can be found in the Image Options code table. This is the only way to clear the image review for images that are set for a specific user that are still pending review. Then, once the admin sets the number of days in the configuration, then the images from the past that have a reviewer assigned, but they did not complete it in an appropriate amount of time will be flagged and marked as reviewed by STAC.
- When a relationship gets replaced on a case, any Notification or image that is pending review will automatically be removed off their list and reassigned to the new relationship as soon as the new relationship is added to the case.
What actions can be done in the Image Review?
The options available in the Image review include:
- Setting another reviewer
- Open Preview (able to see the transcription if the record was sent to the Media Analysis)
- Open record in a new tab
- Download
- Print
- Flagging an image as Discovery
- Undo the Discovery
- Bookmark record
- Edit Image details
- Review the Image
When adding a reviewer, the Sent To field will only populate A directory type that has the Employee parameter checked and their directory has an Active username.
