CIP Storage File Information
The Storage File Information Report summarizes all the files entered in a selected year grouped by Case Type.
- Number of Files per month.
- Total File Size per month.
- Average File Size per month.
The report is designed to support agencies that are willing to understand their storage numbers by knowing their consumption, growth rate, and also to help them to planning storage expansion and purge process.
This report is a heavy process and may take 2-3 minutes to be presented.
To avoid performance issues, CIP does NOT recommend to run it of agency peak hours.
Which files are NOT included in the report?
- Some files are not included in this report such as the Template files (Documents, Statutes, Jury Instruction, etc...) and Report files.
- Linked Folders and Linked Files are not included in this report, since STAC does not have control on them.
- Image files that have been deleted or purged.
- Converted Files (the new file that is created once marked to Convert to Preview [CMS]) are not counted in the report, only the original file.
Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the File Size 100% accurate?
No! File Size information is NOT 100% accurate. Some files don't have the size information in STAC. Link Parser files (Hyperlink Center) prior to July/2025 don't have that information.
2) Which files are being counted in the "Not Defined" case type?
Files that are not related to a Image record. They can be files that are in the Upload Center or Hyperlink Center. It also includes temporary zip files that are part of share via CIP Portal.
3) Can I run the report in STAC 2?
No! Report will be visible in STAC 2 (since it shares the same database), but only can be performed in STAC 3.
4) Can I run the report for multiple years?
No! You can only run a single year per execution.
5) Does the report counts files stored in the CIP Portal Storage?
Yes! Files that are in the CIP Portal Storage are counted in this report.
However, Converted Files (files that has been converted to be previewed) are not part of this report, only the original files is counted.
