Events are used to capture all significant dates and actions in a case.
Examples include:
Offense date
Arrest
Hearings
Speedy trial deadlines
Depositions, etc.
Agencies can use events to track custom data without modifying STAC.
No system update is required to capture new information.
To track a new type of data:
Administrators can create a new Event Type or Subtype
Grant user rights
Users can begin using the new event immediately

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Event Date | The date of the event |
| Event Type | The event type |
| Event Subtype | The Event Subtype. This list is based on the selected event type |
| Event Number/Info | This is a number associated with this event. For example, an Agency report number or the number assigned by a testing lab |
| Event Action | The Event Action works like the event subtype to further classify the event. A good example is to use the event action to indicate when a hearing occurred, was postponed, or canceled |
| Relationship Name | Which relationship is related to this event. Using the deposition as an example again, this field indicates who is being deposed |
| Comment | Any comments about this event. This field is limited to 3,000 characters |
| Requested by | Who requested the action this event is recording. For example, if this event is about a scheduled deposition, this field is used to indicate who requested the deposition |
To apply the same event to multiple cases (e.g., scheduling hearings for multiple defendants at the same time).
Option 1: Select multiple cases > go to Event Tab > click Add
Option 2: Right-click on selected cases in the Case List > choose Add Events
The number of cases is shown at the top of the screen to ensure the user is selecting the right cases when doing a bulk action
Once saved, the events are grouped together
Users will get a confirmation message when updating/deleting any event that is part of a group

STAC will display a list of grouped cases
The case with a check next to it indicates it is the current case selected
User chooses:
Only Update Current Case
Update All Cases
Cancel
The same prompt will appear
Users can:
Delete the single instance
Delete the entire group
Cancel
With the event trigger, agencies can create multiple workflows and enforce rules for data entry.
