Reviewed the RC-2 Release Notes

Patch RC2.1: Hyperlink Center File-Extension Crash

A critical bug was patched:

  • Files uploaded without extensions were treated as folders
  • This created deep (100–200+) nested subfolders
  • Resulted in STAC freeze/crash

Agencies urged to upgrade STAC 3 immediately.

User Questions & Issue Reports

Document Maintenance Usage Count

  • STAC 3 only logs merges performed in STAC 3
  • STAC 2 does not log merge count
  • Therefore, STAC 3 counts appear lower

Action: No change planned.

Directory Driver’s License State Default

  • STAC 3 does not currently default “Driver License State” to FL
  • Wladmir will review to determine if it should match STAC 2

Action: Will be corrected in the next version

Document Rejection in Admin Mode

  • Users cannot reject documents merged by other users
  • No error message; modal simply does nothing
  • Works only if user rejecting = user who merged

Action: CIP will investigate.

Dashboard Widget Resizing/Placement

Issues reported:

  • Widgets shrink/disappear when resizing browser
  • Hard to reposition into open gray areas
  • Layout inconsistent

Action: CIP will evaluate widget grid logic.

Document Editor Variable Filtering

STAC 2 allowed:

  • Multi-criteria variable filtering
  • More granular variable search

STAC 3 currently:

  • Supports only two filter conditions per column
  • No advanced variable filtering UI

Action: Ticket recommended for future enhancement.

Filter/Keyword Persistence Between Cases

Users want:

  • Keyword search box to remain populated
  • Grid filters to remain applied
  • Filters to persist across case navigation

Current Behavior:

  • Only “Show Filter” toggle will persist in next version
  • Grid-level filters will not be preserved (CIP may revisit in future)

Restricting Access to STAC 2 for Migration Purposes

User asked about:

  • Forcing users to move to STAC 3
  • Disabling STAC 2 selectively
  • Limiting access by user/group

CIP Response:

  • Can plan to restrict STAC 2 access by user group
  • Function-level blocking unlikely
  • Configuration option under review

Query Screen Directory Type Retention

Issue:

  • Directory type not retained after tabbing to next field

Status: Fixed in RC2.

Image Review – Search by Username

Issue:

  • Searching by username does not return users
  • Only full name works

Status: Confirmed still an issue
Action: CIP will investigate.

Q: Why do my document usage counts look wrong in STAC 3?

A: STAC 3 only counts merges performed in STAC 3.
STAC 2 never logged merge counts, so historical merges cannot be included.

Q: Why doesn’t the Driver’s License State auto-default to Florida anymore?

A: This may have been removed due to a previous request. CIP will verify and restore if appropriate.

Q: Why can’t I reject a document in admin mode if another user merged it?

A: This is a bug. CIP needs a ticket to investigate.

Q: Why do my dashboard widgets disappear when resizing the screen?

A: Known layout issue. CIP will review the widget grid engine.

Q: Will STAC 3 support multi-filter variable searches like STAC 2?

A: Not currently. A ticket is recommended for future enhancement.

Q: Will search filters and keyword boxes persist when I move to the next case?

A: Only the Show Filter toggle will persist in the next release.
Grid filters and keyword searches will not persist (future consideration).

Q: How can we force users to use STAC 3 instead of STAC 2?

A: CIP can plan to restrict STAC 2 access by user group.
Fine-grained feature-blocking is unlikely.

Q: Is directory-type retention fixed in Query?

A: Yes — fixed in RC2.

Q: Why can’t I search for reviewers by username in Image Review?

A: This is still an issue. CIP will address it.
