STAC 3 Collaboration Meeting Summary 10/5/2025

Summary:

Image/Case Tabs & Keyboard Navigation

· Issue: Changing Keyword requires 3× Tab to return focus to the field.

· Status: Confirmed; CIP to review focus order and restore 1-tab behavior.

Disposition Wizard Character Limit

· Issue: Disposition comment in the wizard has a lower character limit than STAC 2 (can’t type full reason).

· Status: Previously logged; fix will be available in Version RC-2

Victim Association During Filing

· Issue: In File Case (STAC 3), users cannot add a new victim from Directory, only select existing case relationships (STAC 2 allowed adding).

· Design Note: Current intent is “associate only,” not “create during wizard.”

· Next: Users should update relationships before filing or use Charge tab right-click → Add victim. CIP will review potential UX change.

Evidence Upload Status (Link Parser / Portal)

· Request: A progress percentage bar for link processing.

· Status: No % bar (processing happens in Portal). Use CIP Portal Status Search → Portal Type: Link Parser; “Complete/Sent/Pending/Waiting/Voided” shows lifecycle with timestamps. Percentage not planned.

Multi-Select UX & Performance

· Issue (UX): Users lose selections if they click whitespace when multi-selecting images/items.

· Tip: Hold Ctrl and click anywhere on the row (not just the checkbox).

· Issue: Shift-selecting very large ranges can freeze/crash the page during group updates.

· Status: Known; CIP investigating large-range selection handling.

Query → Directory Type Consistency

· Issue: Directory Type picked in query doesn’t propagate to the Directory Search Directory Type field.

· Status: Fix will be available in RC-2.

Document Merge & Styles

· Issue (Variables): Variables starting with a number get prefixed (e.g., M_) and fail to merge in STAC 3 (works in STAC 2).

· Status: Fix will be available in RC-2.

· Issue (Fonts): Docs set to Arial 10 sometimes render as Arial 11 post-merge.

· Status: CIP to investigate; a style fix for a similar case is in progress but may not cover all scenarios.

Charge & Image Tab Usability

· Request: Change “Cancel” button on related-cases popup to “OK” to reduce confusion.

· Status: CIP to review label change. Fix expected in RC-3

· Question: Renumber charges after deletes (like STAC 2).

· Status: Believed automatic in latest build; CIP to confirm/adjust.

· Issue: Image tab doesn’t auto-refresh after marking/unmarking.

· Status: To be reviewed.

Portal Prioritization & Scheduling

· Request: Manually prioritize particular files for upload.

· Status: Portal uses priority & schedules already; agencies restricting daytime large files limit re-ordering options. Adjusting the large-file window is the lever; otherwise FIFO within priority.

Collab vs. Tickets & Feature Tracking

· Clarification: Tickets should still be created; Collab is for group-relevant topics and broader input.

· Request: A doc of STAC 2 features not yet in STAC 3.

· Status: No single doc; refer to Knowledge Base (deliverables) and Help Desk Community for Q&A.

Questions and Answers:

Tabbing & Disposition Wizard

Q: After changing the Keyword, why do I need to press Tab three times?

A: Focus order regression in STAC 3; CIP will adjust so a single Tab return focus as expected.

Q: The Disposition Wizard cuts off long comments, can it match STAC 2?

A: Yes. The character-limit fix is slated for the next release (RC-2)

Victim Association During Filing

Q: Can we add a new victim from Directory while filing in STAC 3 (like STAC 2)?

A: Not currently. Filing wizards only associate existing relationships. Add the victim first (Relationship screen) or use Charge tab → right-click → Add Victim. CIP will review the workflow for a future change.

Evidence/Link Parser Status

Q: Is there a progress bar for evidence links (Link Parser URLs)?

A: No percentage bar. Use CIP Portal Status Search → Portal Type: Link Parser to see Complete / Sent / Pending / Waiting / Voided with timestamps.

Multi-Select UX & Performance

Q: Users lose selections when multi-selecting in Images—any faster way?

A: Hold Ctrl and click anywhere on the row (not just the checkbox) to add/remove from selection. CIP will consider hardening the UI.

Q: Shift-selecting a very large range freezes or crashes during group updates—known?

A: Yes. CIP is investigating performance for large multi-select operations.

Query/Directory Type Consistency

Q: Why doesn’t the Directory Type present correctly in the Directory Search screen?

A: fix will be available in the next version (RC-2)

A: Prioritization follows configured priorities/schedules. If daytime large-file uploads are restricted, FIFO within priority applies; relaxing that window is the main lever.

Q: Do we still need tickets if issues are discussed in Collab?

A: Yes. Collab is for group visibility/feedback; tickets track work.

Q: Is there a list of STAC 2 features not yet in STAC 3?
