STAC 3 Collaboration Meeting Summary 10/01/25:

STAC 3 Collaboration Meeting Summary 10/01/25:

General Updates

Release Schedule: A new release (RC1) is scheduled for Friday (10/3/25) with multiple improvements. RC2 will follow later.
Transparency & Tracking: CIP is publishing a public list of pending items, organized by area. While not updated daily, it will help agencies track progress.
Help Desk/Ticketing: A new help desk portal is being rolled out soon. It will allow circuits to create tickets, track requests, view all open/closed items for their circuit, and access a knowledge base. Goal: improved transparency and communication.

Circuit Feedback & Issues

• SA15:
o Requested statute numbers be shown in the Case Card charge dropdown (quick reference alongside level/degree). (Improvement coming in RC-2)
o Reported regular users cannot enter officer leave in directories (only admins can in STAC 3, unlike STAC 2). Ticket requested to duplicate settings and confirm.
o Questioned status of Event Add w/o User Status Change (ticket #138519). Wlad clarified status updates are not daily; Rafael confirmed fix will be included in next version (RC-1).

• SA12:
o Case Wizard Charge Validation: Currently allows selection of repealed/inactive statutes and only blocks on final save. Requested earlier validation (immediate warning like STAC 2). Rafael noted issue may relate to offense date field flexibility but will review messaging at charge-save step.
o Sentence Entry Flow: Users found field order confusing. Suggested logical sequence: Amount → Amount Type → Sentence Type → Adjudicated → Consecutive → Sentenced As → Comment. Multiple circuits (SA5, SA15) agreed. CIP will review alignment with STAC 2 flow.

• SA19: No new items; awaiting release to test further.
SA18: No items this week; will bring up issues in next meeting.
PD01: Limited user testing until linked folders are available. Users adjusting to drag/drop workflow.
• SA03: Reported score sheet bug where inactivated statutes caused errors during new score sheet creation. Issue may have been temporary.
• SA05: Just starting with STAC 3. Observing now, expect more questions next week.

CIP updates:

Score Sheet Legislative Changes:
July 2025: new 1.25 multiplier for aggravated animal charges.
October 2025: expected additional changes pending confirmation from Tallahassee.
CIP will issue patches for both STAC 2 and STAC 3 outside normal release cycle once official updates are confirmed.

Q&A

Case Card – Statute Display
Q: Can statute numbers be shown in the Case Card charge dropdown?
A: Yes, CIP agreed this is a reasonable enhancement. Statute numbers (if possible and space allows the SEC No also) will be displayed alongside level and degree for quicker reference.

Directory – Officer Leave

Q: Why can’t regular users add officer leave in STAC 3 directories?
A: Currently, only admins can add officer leave in STAC 3. CIP is investigating to confirm the permission, and security is set correctly to ensure regular users are also able to add Officer leave if they have Full security rights to the Leave tab and the Directory type.

Event Status – Add Event Without Status Change

Q: What is the status of the “Add Event without User Status Change” option (Ticket #138519 on Pending items)?
A: The fix has been tested and will be included in the next release. The published pending list is not updated daily, but the feature will be available soon.

Score Sheet – Legislative Updates

Q: How will new score sheet legislative changes be handled?
A: July 2025’s multiplier change (1.25 for aggravated animal charges) and October 2025’s expected updates will be patched outside the normal release cycle. Both STAC 2 and STAC 3 will be updated once final guidance from Tallahassee/DOC is confirmed.

Case Wizard – Repealed Statutes

Q: Why does the Case Wizard allow selection of repealed statutes until final save?
A: Validation currently occurs at case-save, not charge-save. CIP will review moving the warning earlier (at charge-save step) to align with STAC 2 behavior.

Sentencing Entry Flow

Q: Can the sentence entry fields be reordered to match STAC 2?
A: Yes, users requested the sequence Amount → Amount Type → Sentence Type, which aligns with STAC 2. CIP agreed this order is clearer and will adjust the flow.

Help Desk – Ticket Portal

Q: When will the new help desk ticketing portal be available?
A: Within the next couple of weeks. Agencies will receive instructions. Direct portal entry is preferred for transparency and easier tracking.
