I am requesting to swap the field placement in Image Review > Advanced Search so that Reviewer appears as the top field instead of Image Type.
The reason I am asking is each time I go into Advanced Search, I instinctively click the Image Type dropdown thinking it is the Reviewer field. I know part of that is probably muscle memory from STAC 2, but I do think there is a practical reason this layout may make more sense.
From my perspective, Advanced Search is more likely to be used when a user needs to review or locate another user’s image reviews. If someone is searching for their own image types, there are other ways to do that without going into Advanced Search, such as using the search bar or the funnel filter.
Also, if a user does need to search by Image Type within Advanced Search, they would still need to select the Reviewer field if they are searching outside of their own reviews, since the Reviewer defaults to the logged-in user.
I may be alone in this, but I feel like Advanced Search is used more often to search by Reviewer than by Image Type. For that reason, I think it would be helpful for Reviewer to be the top field, with the focus placed there by default, so the user can immediately begin typing to find what they need.
Is there anyone that disagrees or uses this in a way that I am not thinking of? Please share your thoughts below.
Thank you,
Jenn Bennett
